Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• We collect what the game needs to work: your account, your matches and how you play.
• We do not ask for your real name, email address or payment details to play.
• We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
• This website uses no cookies and no analytics.

2. What we collect

Account data. An account identifier, your in-game name and tag, the way you sign in (guest, or a provider such as Steam or Discord) with the identifier that provider gives us, profile choices such as your avatar and favorite king, your country if you set it, and when the account was created and last used. When you sign in through a provider, we receive only that identifier, not your password.

Gameplay data. Matches you play: mode, map, region, the kings picked, results, kills, deaths, damage and other statistics, your rating and seasons, and a replay of each match made of players’ inputs, which lets the match be played back.

Social data. Your friends list, friend requests and lobby invitations.

Moderation data. Reports you send or receive, including the comment written in the report, and any warnings or bans applied to your account, with the reason.

Technical data. Your IP address and connection details, which our servers need to connect you to matches and which may appear in server logs, and technical information about the game client, such as its version and network performance during a match.

Messages to us. If you email us, your email address and what you write.

3. Why we use it

• To run the game: create your account, match you with opponents, host matches, save results and replays, show statistics and friends — necessary to provide the service you asked for.
• To keep play fair and safe: detect cheating, review reports, and enforce our Terms — our legitimate interest and that of all players.
• To keep the service working: secure it, fix bugs and balance the game, using aggregated statistics — our legitimate interest.
• To meet legal obligations, and to answer you when you contact us.

4. What others can see

Other players can see your name and tag, profile choices, statistics and match history, and can watch replays of matches you played. Friends can see when you are online and invite you to a lobby.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the game, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• hosting and network providers that run our servers and this website, such as Cloudflare;
• sign-in providers you choose to use, such as Steam or Discord;
• authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect players and the service.

If you turn on the Discord status feature, the game sends what you are doing in the game directly to the Discord app on your computer. That information is handled by Discord under its own privacy policy; we do not receive it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account, gameplay and social data while your account exists, and delete or anonymize it after you delete your account, except where we must keep some of it longer, for example records of bans to prevent ban evasion, or data required by law. Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted. During development, data may be removed earlier, for example when seasons or test data are reset.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, object to or restrict how we use it, and complain to your data protection authority. To use these rights, email contact@duelskings.com with your in-game name and tag. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours, and we will answer within the time the law requires.

A guest account is tied to your device. If you delete the game data on that device before linking a sign-in provider, we may be unable to confirm that the account is yours.

8. Children

The game is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law of their country. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security and transfers

We protect data with access controls and encrypted connections. Our providers may process data in other countries; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes

We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will notify you in the game or on this website.
